Throughout the semester I learned a lot of valuable writing habits that will help me in my future writing. The different genres I have completed have helped me to establish my project on marijuana and the legalization of it. While completing these genres I was able to make them tie into my course goals. Throughout this course goals synthesis paper you will see how I tied my genres in with the course goals.
A. Students will be able to compose for particular audiences and purpose
In the professional genre I would be writing in a way accountants write, which is straight to the point. I would be writing the audience of marijuana users. The purpose of me writing the professional genre is to talk about legalizing marijuana. Get to the point as to why it was legalized in the first place.
B. Students will be able to compose using language and conventions appropriate to the genre
The appropriate genre I thought using language and convention was the timeline. I choose this genre to explain this course goal because I am a visual person. The timeline show the year and the important facts that go with the year and the topic at hand. In the timeline I have completed, the language and conventions are appropriate to the genre at hand.Throughout the entire genre i used lauguage and conventions.
C. Students will be able to read, select, and use evidence critically to formulate and support argument
The genre I choose for this section was also the timeline. I thought this genre was appropriate for this because while I was researching the reason why marijuana became illegal, I had to identify the important information in the text that I was using to complete my timeline properly. I had to read, select and use evidence critically to create my timeline.
D.Students will be able to interpret and compose in a variety of media and print/non-print genres.
In the professional genre I used facts from the when they started using marijuana in the old days. The different reasons and ways the used this substance. I have learned a lot doing the research of marijuana.

We will be able to reread our work and our peer’s revision they did on our work to improve our work. The peer reviews help me make correction on the work I did to improve it.
